About us: It all began on cruise out of New Orleans in March of 2012.
Reno local Vickie Musni was speaking at a conference that was being held on board the ship, and so was David Wyatt, co-owner of the nation-wide company DJ Trivia. The last night of the cruise the conference group gathered and played a game of DJ Trivia. Vickie remembers saying to her husband Craig, “Reno needs this. As soon as we’re ready to buy into another business, this should be it.” At the time they held the contract that was managing the wedding photography at the Peppermill Hotel and Casino in Reno. Once that contract ended, they began making plans to bring DJ Trivia to Sierra Nevada.
The very first weekly DJ Trivia game in Nevada was held at the Little Waldorf on April 15, 2013. The Wal continues as our longest-running venue partner. Slowly and carefully, Vickie and Craig began to add more venue partners and more hosts, building DJ Trivia Nevada into the kind of family business they wanted it to be. “As the parents of 4 kids – now all teenagers – we believe it’s important to have a family-friendly trivia game at restaurants that is fun for all ages.” Vickie adds, “We like being the ‘clean and classy’ trivia option that caters to families, students and professionals who want to go out and have some fun, but still be able to get up and go to work the next morning.”
Four years into the DJ Trivia journey, Vickie and Craig bought a second territory so they could expand to other parts of the region outside of Reno and Sparks. They currently operate 20+ weekly games in Sierra Nevada region, including areas like Minden, Fernley, South Lake Tahoe, and Reno-Sparks. Games are hosted by their team of 13 employees who Vickie refers to as the “DJ Trivia Sierra Nevada Family.”
